Black Hole Senshi Design Contest: Sailor Lelantos

hi! this is my entry for Black Hole Senshi Design Contest! [link] for a sixth Black Hole Senshi for her OC sailor team [link] and you can scope the rest of the competition here [link]

This is Sailor Lelantos an Asteroid Senhi named after the greek titan god of air and the hunter's skill. His name was derived from the greek word meaning "to escape notice", "move unseen" or "go unobserved." when i was creating her i had the idea of a beautiful stoic warrior who could stand her own against the likes of Sailor Uranus or Pluto, so i used them in reference in making her. i wanted to make a lone senshi who wouldn't clash with Singing-Kiwi's existing team members but was also unique and different in some ways then the rest...

The colors of her fuku are: a warm dark yellow verging on bronze and a warm dark grey, her back bow and gems are composed of a third color: rich yellow with a tint of green similar to her eyes. she is a dual blade fighter with her crescent sickle... but the victory sword and the color of her front bow are mementos in honor of Sailor Vanth the satellite Black Hole Senshi of Vanth in the Kuiper Belt where Sailor Lelantos was born. she is either a high school senior or college student..idk. she is a quiet observer, possessing a very mature presence but she can be a little intimidating. she is pensive, serious, stoic, athletic and strong. she's courageous and stands up against in justice and she doesn't really have much of a sense of humor. her favorite dish is nabe( japanese hot pot) and she likes to drink strong bitter tea with traditional Japanese sweets.

Present Day

Suzume Masura was just another normal student like the rest in her school. She had won countless awards for her kendo club and even some for the archery club as well. Most of the students were intimidated by her and thought she was an elegant beauty to be admired from afar, and because of this she had no real friends. Even though this bothered Suzume slightly she was accepting of it because she was in fact afraid that friendship would hurt her again like it had in the past. She had become somewhat of an introvert after the early death of her older cousin; her one true childhood friend.

Recently there had been many reports of strange attacks occurring all over the city, it was during this time Suzume started having traumatic dreams of the death of a warrior princess dressed in a sailor fuku who looked like her cousin. Memories of a distant time and another life started flooding her mind, of an oath to aid in the protection of the Silver Millennium from a far, and an overwhelming urge to fight against any evil that may be a servant to Chaos.

One late afternoon after a harsh kendo practice; Suzume on her way home, came upon a horrific attack, a great creature was standing over the body of a classmate. It seemed to be stealing what looked like to her some sort of crystal from the victim's body, immediately she felt those same memories and urges from her dreams surface up. She had to take action and protect, she unsheathed her kendo stick and went at the monster without a second thought. But it was no use, the creature was too strong for her and then time froze still, Suzume looked up at a great light coming from the sky and out came the ghostly figure of the warrior princess in the fuku suit.

She said her name was Sailor Vanth, and that the earth was once more in danger. She said that it was time for Suzume to remember her oath as a soldier of justice. She handed Suzume the sacred objects of a senshi: the cresent sickle and victory sword. She said these would aid her in her mission, and that she was not alone, that there were others out there just like her. Time started to move again, and Suzume felt a warmth wrap around her body, she had been awakened and transformed into Sailor Lelantos a Guardian Soldier of Justice and she knew what she had to do. She defeated the monster and returned the crystal to the student, and she realized she didn't have to feel lonely anymore because she had allies somewhere out there with the same mission. She would continue to fight as Sailor Lelantos the Asteroid Senshi and eventually find the rest of the Black Hole Senshi.

Silver Millennium

Long ago in the days of the Silver Millennium before Lelan(past life name) became a Black Hole Senshi, She lived in the farthest regions of the Kuiper Belt on the asteroid satellite Vanth. The outer most regions of the solar system were under constant threat of attack by invading enemies. Even though the highly powerful and revered Outer Senshi of the Great Castles: Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto thwarted many of these invading forces they could not possible stop them all.

So the ladies of the noble houses of the Kuiper Belt were chosen and trained as Black Hole Senshi as a guard to aid the Senshi of the Great Outer Castles against the never ceasing attacks. It is here where the story of the young Lelan starts. As the only daughter of the Duke of Vanth who spent all of his time as a commander in the Royal infantry she was taken as a ward of the Royal Family of Castle Vanth. She had been left lone all her life, and even here was no different; she was the youngest person in the castle and given very little to no attention because everyone was concentrating on protecting the boundaries of the Silver Millennium. But her beautiful, strong, and kind older cousin the Princess of Vanth would make sure that she was loved and treated fairly, they spent several years living happily as sisters until the Princess of Vanth came of age to become a satellite Black Hole Senshi, and was given the title of Sailor Vanth.

Sailor Vanth soon became widely known for her strength, beauty, and compassion in battle almost competing for the popularity of the senshi of the Great Outer Castles. Lelan was extremely proud of her cousin who she idolized, despite being lonelier than she had ever been before, and hearing news of the courageous Sailor Vanth in battle only motivated her to become a great Black Hole Senshi just like Sailor Vanth. Lelan was so determined that she began to sneak out of her room to the training area in the guards' quarters, at first she spent months only spying on their techniques and fighting styles spending all her time reenacting them in her room, but eventually that wasn't enough for her. The guards had noticed her early on but kept up the rouse as to not startle her, for she was known to never leave her room. One night she couldn't take it anymore and ran straight up to the leader of the guard from her hiding spot and begged him to train her, and he agreed on one condition, they keep it a secret from the royal family of Castle Vanth.

The training, exercises, and sparring lessons where some of the most difficult hardships she had ever experienced, but she was dead set on becoming as great as Sailor Vanth. Lelan was a natural and soon excelled farther than the guards had expected. She trained every night with them and every day alone in her room for the next several years without fault. When Lelan was not more than a few months from becoming the age necessary to be a Satellite Black Hole Senshi, she heard news of a great battle taking place near the vicinity of Castle Vanth and that Sailor Vanth would also be there fighting, she was ecstatic. It had been ages since her cousin had seen her and she wanted to show Sailor Vanth how strong she had grown, how she had surpassed the guards who had trained her, and to fight alongside her. Even though it was forbidden to leave the grounds for danger of enemy attack, that night Lelan decided to sneak out of Castle Vanth and join the battalion with the guards' help.

Upon leaving the grounds of the castle, Lelan had to fight harder than any opponent she had ever faced before, these enemies where strong and highly trained, but she was better. And she kept fighting with her favorite weapon in hand, her crescent sickle, reaching the clearing where the main battle was taking place and where she would find Sailor Vanth. She could see her father the Duke with his troops fighting in the distance and there in the open was Sailor Vanth radiant and beautiful as ever, gallantly fighting a fearsome foe. The Royal Battalion seemed to have the upper hand but the enemy's numbers kept multiplying and the Royal Battalion was soon on the retreat. But not Sailor Vanth, she could take out countless enemies with one swing of her victory sword. Lelan could not sit idly by; she fought her way through an ocean of enemies as the men ran from the fierce battle. And she had finally achieved her long awaited wish; she was fighting alongside Sailor Vanth; who at first was quite surprised to see her little cousin on the battle field.

Lelan and Sailor Vanth seemed to be doing the impossible; the once swelling ocean of foes was rapidly dwindling down to nothing. They fought as if they had been fighting for centuries together, complementing each other's attacks and Lelan was truly happy for a change. But the joy was not to last, for depleting his army, a most powerful General who set the attack and also a loyal servant to Chaos, was overcome with rage and set his sights on the pair. His strength was unimaginable; one hit would set the ground shaking and send Lelan staggering to her knees, but Sailor Vanth continued to fight unimpeded, never slowing her pace or showing fatigue against him.

He was a fearsome enemy and Lelan felt out classed by her struggle to keep up with him but Sailor Vanth was surreal and kept eating away at his defense, he couldn't stop her. Lelan let her guard down for less than a second and he took full advantage, she saw his blade coming in to make contact with her and she was defenseless. She was startled at first to feel no pain and then gasped realizing Sailor Vanth had taken the hit directly to her abdomen. He let out a fierce laugh and called them fools, for this whole time he had only been fighting to buy time so the last of his forces could activate a Black Hole Crystal they had taken from a senshi that they had killed. He laughed wickedly and thanked them for his victory as he escaped, that the Silver Millennium would be defenseless very soon and he would come back to claim it for Chaos.

The Royal Battalion with the Duke in charge had all gathered around Lelan and Sailor Vanth who lay in her arms, the Duke praised them both for fighting so bravely and fearlessly where they could not, even though they were doomed. A growing black hole now loomed in the sky, destroying everything in its path. Sailor Vanth look up at Lelan and told her how proud of her she was and how one day she would become a great warrior. Sailor Vanth struggled to her feet, she took her Victory Sword and laid it in Lelan's palms, saying that as long as Lelan had this she would not be alone for she would be watching over her. Sailor Vanth turned to the Duke and told him it was her sworn duty to protect the Silver Millennium no matter the cost; even her own life. Lelan didn't want to let go of her but Sailor Vanth just smiled kindly and hugged her good bye. She clutched her Black Hole Crystal, looked up into the sky and hoped it would be enough to counteract the growing black hole. She walked into its massive pull and released the energy of her crystal and the sky cleared as if there had never been anything there to begin with.

Lelan swore to avenge Sailor Vanth's noble sacrifice and to defeat the evil General, but when the time came for her to be chosen as a Satellite Black Hole Senshi, the King and Queen of Castle Vanth refused her as a noble lady of the House, blaming her for their daughter's death. Even at the good words and pleas of the Royal infantry, guard, and the Duke himself for her fierce bravery on the battle field they still refused her and with no House to represent her she could not become a Satellite Senshi. But there was hope yet; her father the Duke had told her that her mother had been a princess from a distant kingdom outside the rule of the Silver Millennium on an asteroid named Lelantos. Her late mother had named her after the distant kingdom as name sake to the place where she had lived before marrying the Duke of Vanth. That night Lelan left Castle Vanth once more, this time never to return.

With the help of the Duke Lelan headed to the Great Castle of Pluto: Charon Castle to seek refuge, where she shed herself of the affiliation of House Vanth and would be known hence forth as a warrior ambassador of Lelantos. She pledged her loyalty to the Silver Millennium and was elected to go to the Moon Kingdom and receive training as an Asteroid Senshi. She would later come to be known as Sailor Lelantos and even be regarded by Queen Serenity herself as one of the most powerful Black Hole Senshi. Sailor Lelantos was granted to spend her remainder at a post in the far most regions of the solar system where she lay in wait of the evil General's return before Sailor Saturn awoke to bring an end to the Silver Millennium.</sup>
